No idea right now what happened to be honest. I have narrowed it down to the following.
1) Battery died.... 6 volt 3300 mah Nimh that had been cycled 4 or 5 times from new. Yes I am sad to say there was only one rx battery installed in this model. I have given the going back to basics approach a try recently. One battery and no power boxes and such and it seemed to be working quite well ( Up until last Saturday anyway ) With the advent of Spektrum/ 2.4 I have never had so much trouble free flying and I guess I got complacent...
I have checked the battery back at the workshop ( This did involve pushing one cell that had separated in the crash) And this read 6.5 volts
2) Rx Died. JR 12 ch Rx with two satellites both extended. One to the ejection seat area of the cockpit, and the other to the lower side of the middle fuselage. Yes I was only using one Rx Same reasons as above really.
I have not had a chance to look into that
I really cant see any other reason. The model was flying at about 3/4 throttle so not overly fast. I was just entering a slow roll so not huge load on servos or airframe, and noting fluttered or departed from the airframe.
Thats about it so far.
Analyze away.
