This engine has been converted to diesel with just the use of a solid disc and a couple of extra gaskets. Adding or deleting gaskets is how you adjust the compression ratio.
Fuel is 30 ether, 50 kero, and 20 castor with 1% Amsoil cetane booster.
Prop is a 10 X 4 Grish, black Tornado.
It sags when up to temperature indicating a tad overcompressed.
This was a rebuilt engine with a new P/C set and I just had to see how much better it would do with a bit of squeeze at the top. It ran no faster but this time, it's running with a custom made Pitts style muffler so no doubt we have a more powerful engine this time around. ... (more) (less)
